The Lancaster Country Club History
The Lancaster Country Club was founded in 1909 around a 9 hole golf course. The original course was redesigned by the Donald Ross Design Company in 1926, and has all of the character
you would expect from a design that early. Gently rolling hills, mounded greens, and a design that fits with the surrounding land. In 1959 the course was exanded to 18 holes by renouned designer Jack Kidwell. In the 1980's the Donald Ross Society visited and offered direction on a redesign of the front 9 (Kidwell Side) that would make the two sides flow together.
From the humble beginnings in 1909, and with the help of the Peter's family, this Country Club was formed. With the emphasis on outdoor activities, a Clay Tennis Court and with the golf course, a day of fun and recreation was just a short Trolley ride away.
Today Lancaster Country Club has four Har-Tru Tennis courts, a Jr Olympic swimming Pool, and a Clubhouse to host dinner and partys of any size, for any occasion.
